The sharpshooter leaves a legacy of three-point accuracy and postseason success

JJ Redick, the 40-year-old former NBA shooting guard, has announced his retirement from professional basketball. Redick, who was born in Cookeville, Tennessee, played 15 seasons in the NBA, making a name for himself as one of the league's most prolific three-point shooters. He played for the Orlando Magic, Milwaukee Bucks, Los Angeles Clippers, Philadelphia 76ers, New Orleans Pelicans, and Dallas Mavericks during his career. He officially announced his retirement on Twitter on Wednesday, saying, "I'm so grateful for the game of basketball and all that it has given me." Redick was known for his ability to shoot the three-point shot with great accuracy, finishing his career with a 41.5% three-point shooting percentage. He was a three-time All-Star and helped the Clippers reach the Western Conference Finals in 2014. He also won a silver medal with the United States national team at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Redick's retirement marks the end of a successful career for one of the NBA's most respected players.
